'93 9000 first winter sputter?

Salutations:

Being that this is the first winter with the Trionic system, I am unfamiliar with it's idiosyncrasies - any thoughts would be appreciated ('93 5 speed TCS 9000 Aero).

I am getting an occasional sputter and fluctuating dash lights (idle through 2,500rpm). Sometimes takes a second extra to start - power locks don't seem all that snappy either.

Given winter is setting in here on the stormy North Atlantic, I assumed it needed a maintenance charge or a fresh battery, but it seemed to get better despite getting colder over the past couple of days. I'm going to get the battery load tested out of the machine just to make sure because a low amperage situation can be as tough on the whole system as a high one.

Given an earlier experience, I don't much trust the dash voltmeter in these sort of situations either - but it intimates 13.6-9 rolling along. So onto the alternator to check around while the battery is being tested.

I would also like to test the DI for resistance or any other visual irregularities - any suggestions or details on that? I have a TCS cutout switch and I'll throw that breaker over the next couple of days to exclude that viable before I put into Halifax Autosport for a spritz and a rub-down.

Only known current modification is a new K&N intake filter. The only wrinkle there was that I had to reset the engine 'learning' system for the new flow rate and then find the steepest longest onramp to run it full throttle for *under* 3,900rpm for the required 4 seconds while it burned the EPROM.

Anyway - best wishes for the season brothers and sisters. No real snow or sleet to test the new DS2 tires yet, will report in as weather goes wicked proper in Nova Scotia.

Well, turns out the battery is fine - the alternator is only showing

50amps at the battery. I think this model is supposed to have 115 alternator, however would dearly love a confirm on that as I have to order parts.
