Well, let's see. They don't have any Saab markings visible, there's 4 of 'em and he claims "these came off of _a_ 1986 Saab..." (emphasis mine) when a c900 only has room for 2, and they're fugly. And 1986 Saabs _have_ side marker lights and these aren't it. The photos are unclear and the styling doesn't look like anything Saab has ever designed. So yeah, I'd agree I've never seen it before either. I suspect the reason is other than "rarity".
Just my thoughts, I could be wrong.

The guy says "rare" to all his SAAB auctions :)
Off the top of my head, they're intended to fit as reflectors to the doors, visible only when the doors are open. My previous C900s have had them, but I never looked to see if they had bulbs in ... I presumed they were just reflectors.

I asked 'em for the part number and where on the car they were. We'll see what/if he responds with.
He tells me there was an error with the listing. I asked for clarification, and now he claims that they're from an Alfa Romeo Milano

Ah ... Those old *very* rare Alfa branded SAAB parts, eh? :) Still, it's an interesting mod for our reflectors.

For values of "interesting" which match "completely inappropriate styling", I suppose...
