I guess it depends on where you are located at. In Scandinavia, SE has nothing to do with engine, it just describes highest level of standard options. On the otherhand, with 200hp Aero is the most powerful (Viggen excepted) 9-3 with similar options than SE (I guess).

In US, there is no Aero, just SE, which happens to be more or less same than Aero in Scandinavia.

I'm in the UK and I've just sold a 2000 SE, replacing it with a 2001 Aero. Here are the differences I can think of off hand, though they only relate to these two particular cars, they're probably no far off.

Aero SE

205BHP 154BHP 0-60 6.9 secs 0-60 8.0 secs Actually, that's all you need to know, but if you want more...

Aero SE Traction control Big wheelspin Cruise control Accelerator pedal SID with more buttons SID with less buttons Leather Velour Electric seats Manual seats Heated seats Cold bums CD changer Big boot Overhanging kerbs = bad news Ground clearance Boy racer bodykit bumpers etc.

17 inch wheels 15 inch wheels Rubber bands Tyres Tramlining No tramlining Sporty ride Comfy ride

I think that just about covers it.

Colin.
