Audio IN jacks

Lots of audio systems have them. Go to your local ICE store and find one.

If you meant to ask, does my Saab have this facility, it might be better to tell us what car and head unit you have.

Depends on the radio

The 9-5 (and probably others) are set up to be able to have a cell phone HandsFree kit wired in (I've done it on mine and it works great) There's a line that the HFK pulls low and an input line, but I dont' think it's stereo. You can get the connector for the radio from Saab for (amazingly $15, I've never had ANYTHING THERE cost me that little!)

Check out the i-Trip from Griffin Technology. They've got a good reputation in the Mac community for building quality accessories, and while I don't have one (not yet owning an iPod, y'see), it's first on my to-buy list once I have an iPod. Transmits over FM, doesn't need cables or it's own batteries.

Unfortunatley illegal in the UK, so unless you can get a mate to send you one, or pick one up on a visit you might have a few probs.

Don't know if Griffin will even mail one to the UK (and I know not directly applicable to the OP, but to others who might consider it).

Ah, that's unfortunate but I guess not surprising, given the RF detector vans and all that.

How about a cassette adapter? I mean, you lose a bit but it beats hacking into the wiring, y'know?

They are fine, have used one in an older car. Some of them don't like autoreverse cassette decks, so you may need to experiment a little.

The clicking can get a little annoying at first on really cheap ones, but you don't necessarily hear it after a while.

Biggest downside is a messy cable hanging down across the dash.
