Saab 900i, 8v, '88: someone got enthusiastic with by bonnet pulley: the cable became detached from the lever - I fixed that, but now, even pulling it will not open the bonnet. Dag nab it! Stuffed for Christmas. Would anyone have any suggestions ? Many thanks. Tom

Thump on the part of the hood you can reach, while pulling with your other hand. Then, once it's open, adjust the cable. It's stretched - they do that.

Also you could detach cable from handle, get a pair of molegrips on it and pull hard, that's how I did mine.

The way to adjust your cable is to pop out your front grille. 4 screws will do it in about 5 min. You can then adjust or replace the cable easily. also it will enable you to open your hood until cable is repaired. Good luck papa
