Griffin- What makes a Griffin a Griffin

One day I hope to be able to answer a few questions too, but for now another question from me.....

Considering purchasing a 9000 Griffin, but can't really find a definitive guide as to what makes a griffin a griffin, how can I tell? I understand that the V5 won't necessarily use the term Griffin.

Cheers

I think the V5 will - the Griffin was a V6 AFAIK. The V5 will list the engine code. The V6 Saab engine was ... Well, "not so popular" ... Better spend your money on a 4 cylinder turbo Aero because that's what Saab did best.

Griffins were V6 Auto all the toys executive Motorway punchers to go alongside the Aero Manual sporting version I think, weren't they?

AFAIK, the Griffins are only saloon models. More emphasis on luxury trimmings than sporting.

I actually saw my first real one today ... As opposed to a picture on the 'net. I pulled up alongside the beast at traffic lights - I was in my Punto though, so I didn't cause the fellow confusion by waving :)

Nice car - Yeah! I can kind of understand the Aero vs Griffin argument now, but can't help thinking the 4 cylinder turbo CD model with all the trimmings is still better.

Griffin, I have a 1992 9000 Griffin here in the States. These are all

2.3Turbo models, green in color, special alum. wheels, all wired up with a hands free cell phone, mike on the rear view mirror ad antenna on the rear window, special suede inserts material on the seats, traction control.. I understand Saab made 400 for the States, mine has a plate on the dashboard number 098. A top of the line Auto in 1992 with all the Goodies. They had an 80,000 mile warranty with all p.m.'s included and cost $42,000. Like all 1991 and 1992 9000CD Turbos these are real "Hot Rods" ad very fast off the line.

Where can I obtain this? I am considering a subscription to Saab TechInfo, but don't know what.
