over heating white smoke

i hav a 1990 saab 9000 cd 2.0 turbo and the thing runs really nice but there is white smoke comming from the tail pipe it idles right at

800-900 rpm really nice runs good too but what is with the smoke (lots of steam i think) and it over heats whn sitting still i replaced the thermostat but thats not it so i thik it might be the fan switch i got a boos controler and it is at 12-13 psi right now is the white smoke the head gaskit? and can i drive it?

yes, in general; overheating and white smoke is a good indication for a blown head gasket, or worse, a cracked head.

Could be the head gasket but it could also be the turbo. My 9-5 started blowing white smoke and it was the turbo - replaced under warranty, fortunately: perhaps a bit late for warranty for the

9000....

it only smokes when it get 3/4 up the tempacher thing

Go to a mechanic and have a leakdown test performed, that'll tell you where the problem is. 95% chance the head gasket is blown.
