Part ID help: transmission hose

Jul 16, 2004 4 Replies

Hi

I am trying to get a proper ID on a part for an 87 Saab turbo 900. The photo:

formatting link
That is looking into the engine compartment, from the left/front fender.

It leaks tranny fluid like crazy, and the local shop said it is about a $300 hose as they supposedly are not a normally stocked item. I plan on going to the local bone yards to see if I can scrounge one of a dead Saab, but if I had the part name I would like to try and find it new if at all possible. The photo detail in the Chilton's manual is awful, and it doesn't name it that I can tell.

If anyone can ID it, I would be very appreciative! If more information is needed from me, let me know. It's not my car, so I am not 100% familiar with it beyond Saab 900 Turbo.

thanks!

Any hydraulics shop should be able to customise this type of hose/connections, for less than $300. I once had a 900 hydraulic clutch line+hose made. Take out the hose + tube + connections and take it to a specialised shop.

Thanks for the idea MH, appreciate it.

PS folks, I see Google-post duplicated my message- I honestly didn't post this message twice.

Hi !

Depending on the chassinumber (WIN) of your car it should be either of

7547706 or 7547862 (the later is no longer sold as new, and is replaced with 7549868.

7547706 is used on chassinumber (WIN) --H3015247, --H2012507,

--H7018677.

7547862 (7549868) is used on chassinumber (WIN) H3015247--, H2012507--, H7018677--.

All chassinumbers (WINs) ar preceded with YS3xxxxxx
