Its very hard to find information on this car. I own a 93 saab 9000 and want to install my aftermarket pionner cd player in the dash. The stock tape deck plugs directly into the car with no wires and i cant find an adapter anywhere! If anyone can offer help with this install and/or a wiring diagram for the stereo in this car it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ( snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com)

With *no* wires ? Wow !

You want tape and CD ?

It's been a while since I had my '93 9000CSE abd did this, but I recall that I removed the stock cassette deck and the equalizer both and installed an aftermarket (Sony eXplode) headunit w/ CD player. I bought mine from

, and they provided an adapter cable of some kind. The only additional thing was there was an amplifier under the (right side) passenger seat for the rear speakers that I had to disable and bypass. I don't remember where I found the wiring diagrams for the OEM stereo, but I did. They are out there somewhere...

Oh, the sound from the aftermarket SONY was *much* better than from the OE Clarion crapola, and I had in-dash CD which was the main objective. I chose the Sony because it had a very sensitive FM receiver. That also worked better after the swap than the OE ever did.
