on 89 900 it will not go in to reverse or 5th. any ideas on this problem
Does the center console, where the gearshift is mounted, slide around when you try to shift? If so, that'll make the shifter in the wrong place - the linkages can't get you over to that side. Did this just start, or come on gradually? Any odd noises?
