Tire wear...?

Question

My '02 9-3 convertible, with 14k miles on it, seems to have front tires (Pirelli P6000s) with little wear left on them, especially towards the inner edghe of the tire. Is it normal for the 200HP+ engine to eat through tires as quickly? Alignment problem? Are there better (more comfort and wear) tires since I must soon change?

Front wheel drives with 200+ HP tends to eat tires if driven fast, especially around turns.pablo wrote:

I have a 2002 Saab 9-3 SE hatchback with your same tires. I too have noticedextreme wear in the front...with 15 thousand or so miles driven with thosetires. They are great tires...super in the rain...and "standable" during hefirst weeks of winter, when winter tire transfer (I use Gislavids duringthis time of the year) is essential. My Pirelli's have a comforting gripwith the road during the summer...on nice sunny days..going through yourfavorite curvy roads.
