LW200 with squeaky rear seat

I have a 2003 LW200 with a squeaky rear seat. It is a constant springy type of squeak while in motion. At first I thought it might be the cargo area pull shade, as that is spring loaded, but the squeak was still there after I removed it. I think it's coming from either the rear seat latching mechanism/hinges or under the rear seats. I placed a blanket over the spare tire and there is nothing in that compartment that could be making the noise.

Any suggestions on how to stop the squeak?

Our 06 Malibu had the same squeaks when we bought it used this spring. I put a thin film of lithium grease on the the latches that hold the seat backs in place, and Voila! no more squeaks. It is woth a try for you, and costs nothing except a few cents worth of grease. David
