P0442 code

Your message has disappeared into cyberspace so I'll just have to start a new one. That P0442 code is an enhanced evap emissions code(small leak.) Extremely hard to find sometimes. The biggest culprit is usually a defective gas cap but if it's not that it could be anywhere. By small leak they mean real small-The spec then was that the system had to detect a leak equivalent to a hole 0.04 inch in diameter. I would have thought that the dealer would have checked the cap first but you never know. It could be lots of things-A nick in any o-ring in the system, faulty vent valve seal, faulty tank pressure sensor seal, the list goes on. I don't live in a place where we have emissions testing but I wouldn't imagine that they would pass a vehicle with an emissions code. Good luck
