1965 Studebaker Art - Brooks Stevens

I purchased the Brooks Stevens concept art that includes two different views of the proposed 1965 Cruiser. Ebay item #320077647302

The seller told me he bought them form Bill Moser of Studebaker of Canada. Does anyone know of Bill Moser?

Thank you

Michael, I thought those were very cool. Do you think that there was a front view at one time? It's amazing the amount of detail that is in them.

I asked the seller that very question Tim. He said he only saw the two of them. It seems logical though that there would have been a front. It would be a real miracle if a front one was still around.

On page 187 of the Studebaker Century book, there's a picture of the first '65 off the line at Hamilton and in the picture is Gordon Grundy, Studebaker Automotive Div. President and "Manufacturing V.P. Bill Moeser".

I found Bill Moeser's obituary:

MOESER, William Alan (1921-2004) Died peacefully, surrounded by family, at Toronto Grace Hospital, on April 9th at age 83. Predeceased by his wife of 59 years May (LINDSAY), and daughter Sheila ROY. Bill was a devoted and cherished husband, father, father-in-law, Poppa, uncle and friend. Bill will be deeply missed by his son Doug (and Catherine Dawson MOESER, of Cincinnati), his daughter Lindsay (and John McLAUGHLIN, of Toronto), as well as by grandchildren Heather ROY (and Anne ROBINSON), Colin ROY (and Jennifer Shelswell ROY), Geoffrey MOESER (and Stacie STEINBERGER), Andrew MOESER, Fraser McLAUGHLIN and Graham McLAUGHLIN, great-grand-daughter Lauren Sheila ROY (and two more great-grand- children expected this spring), and his many nieces, nephews and good Friends. Bill MOESER had a full lifetime of accomplishments, which he enjoyed with a wonderful sense of humour, and great generosity of spirit. Bill was born in Toronto and attended Oakwood Collegiate before graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1943. He loved Canada, becoming an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy immediately after graduation, and spending the duration of the war in convoy duty on the North Atlantic. He loved automobiles, especially old ones, new ones and fast ones. He loved hockey, playing in high school and for U of T, and still at age 75 played hockey enthusiastically with his grandchildren. Above all he loved his family. His children benefited immensely as he led them around the world to live in France and then Australia. To his grandchildren he was their beloved 'Pop', who with wit and wisdom always encouraged them to follow their dreams. Bill had many cherished Friends with whom he had great fun, and maintained close relationships throughout his lifetime. Bill also loved his community, and was a natural leader in his many areas of commitment. At Massey-Ferguson from 1945-1962 he held positions of increasing responsibility before moving to Studebaker Canada as Vice-President. In 1967 he moved to Kitchener where he was President of Lear Siegler Canada until his retirement in 1985. He was a long-time Director of Budd Canada, and served on the Boards of numerous other corporations. He served in a leadership capacity in many organizations in the Kitchener-Waterloo area including: President of the Rotary Club of Kitchener, Governor of Wilfrid Laurier University, Governor of Conestoga College, Director of Westmount Golf and Country Club, and Director of the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation. Friends and relatives will be received at Edward R. Good Funeral Home,

171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday, April 12, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will take place at Trinity United Church, 74 Frederick Street, Kitchener, on Tuesday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the service, Friends and relatives are invited to the church hall for refreshments and a time to visit with the family. In Bill's memory, donations can be made to the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice and can be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or
