'53 Stude Serial Numbers

IL does not read the plate unless a problem appears LOL. The Packard Hawk I have was read as 58L8 instead of 58LS. I did not even notice it till my insurance company commented on it not being a valid number. I went back to the DMV and they had me take the car to the local police to verify the serial number. The cop asked me what the form should say, looked the car over, called a couple of buddies out to look at the car and then put the number I had mentioned on the form. He never looked at the plate. But of course when I filed for a corrected title I got one back with exactly the same error on it. Only difference was that it now said Corrected Title on it. Took three tries before they finally got it right.

OK, can you find me a deal like that on a truck? Only a couple weeks until my friend's new vehicle arrives and if I haven't found anything by then I'll probably be driving an F-150. (that '72 I sent you the ad of turned out to be a nice driver but a bondo buggy.)
