OT- want a 2008 Powerstroke?

I think something funny was going on in that video, the engine sounded fine except for that rapping noise and that went away when the driver revved the engine. There is something odd about the tail pipes too.

One of the comments suggested there were spark plugs in the tail pipes and the noise was from whatever was triggering the spark plugs.

The recall does say the pipes get very hot and could cause flames if the truck had a leak such as a leaky fuel injector, but that was pretty rare, and nothing that would cause that noise.

They don't really sound like that engine does in the video, do they? I've heard 20 year old Mercedes with the mechanical Bosch injection pumps quieter than that!

I think this video may have been staged. However, '08 Powrestrokes are being recalled because of very hot exhaust systems which could cause fires. Paul Johnson
