The car originally belonged to Jim Bunting, from the Lancaster, PA Area. He had Tom Kellog redesign the car as a two seater and then made it happen. After that, he inaugurated the AVX project, also touched by Tom Kellog, before he passed away. The AVX evolved into the resurrected Avanti, in 1998
