balancing the 2 section drive shafts

Gentlemen: There is a slight vibration with my 1954 coupe. When I got the car the 2 driveshafts were all apart. When I put the car back together I lined up the 2 universal joints so they were parallel. However on the rear portion of the drive shaft (the shorter one) where the 2 rubber bushings mount, the shaft is all the way forward and the bushings do not ride in the center, they ride all the way at the end, Is there an adjustment for this? any of this make sense.? I installed new universal joints.

Thanks: Mark

No, I'm not sure what you're describing, but the housing that holds the ball bearing should ride approximately in the center of those two rubber bushings. Perhaps that housing, or support, isn't assembled correctly. Do you have a shop manual to look at?
