I am starting to see that a 1963 and 1964 Avanti are just like a mail order bride. You never know what you will get. It is what it is even from the factory.
Just like an Avanti.

Most likely scenarios..... Stude engines usually have a reddish-orange sealer applied to the blocks. This can be seen when the paint chips off. Since so many other parts beside the engine are painted orange, it seems likely a previous owner thought he was 'dressing it up'. Look for the stamped engine number at the top front corner, left side (driver's side) of the engine block next to that little block-off plate. Then we'll see if it's still the original engine or not.
