New driver

I picked up a new driver today....'63 Cruiser, auto, 289, P/ S.......engine was rebuilt about 8 years ago. Guy I bought it from said harmonic balancer was installed wrong? Is that possible? Car is still licensed...small issue with thermostat housing...snapped off bolt, will drill out monday. Going to be my daily driver.

I have seen it done although that statement is kind of vague. You can put the parts of the damper together wrong but you have to really work at doing that. The holes only line up one way. I have seen a few 'forced' on wrong. Is there a vibration or are the pulleys wobbling or not lining up? Funny noises? Studebaker George

supposed to have the timing mark way off...I will know more tomorrow after I drill out the thermo housing bolt and replace it. He also said the carb was not right...I have one on the shelf that John Reinhardt of Bedias, Tx rebuilt for my grandpa
