New neighbors (OT)

Sunday afternoon a couple who lives across the street came over and introduced themselves and brought us a bag of vegetables from their garden. What a difference eight miles makes....now if my 'ol lady can only get motivated with the new house... Moving still sucks, but it's getting better all the time... Studebaker George

If you had moved to Houston, your new neighbors would have welcomed you by spraying some graffitti on your garage door or ransacking you new house.

Heh... I understand that the crime rate is up in Houston for the first time in several years which has been attributed to Katrina "imports."

We call 'em "flushees" here, and they are even more crime-prone than the indigenous barbarians we have here. The only good thing about it is that New Orleans' crime rate has dropped substantially from the absence of the scum. Mexico's crime & DWI problem must surely be better now also.

But hopefully not enough of them to keep the nasty-mouthed racist mayor Nagin in office. He insisted that he wanted to maintain N.O. as "a chocolate city". Lord help the white mayor who would make a similar statement.

Barry, I think that you missed the follow-up. The Mayor was talking "milk chocolate," the half-breed stuff that Yanks and Brits seem to like so much, not the real chocolate much of the rest of the world enjoys, Whan we hear "chocolate" we naturally assume is what we know as chocolate milk chocolate.
