Studebaker Champ Pickup Rim Question

I just bought what I believe is a 1963 Champ pickup with a full-flow

289. It had 2 flat tires and I brought rims from my 64 Champ pickup to put on it to haul home. They did not fit, my rims from my 64 Champ are 5 X 5 bolt pattern, the rims on this truck were 5 X 4 3/4. I am stumped. I thought 63 and 64 Champs had the same drums and bolt patterns. Both trucks are 1/2 tons. Any explanations or answers would be appreciated.

Somebody's been a'fooling with your truck in the past.

Five inch is standard on Studebaker light trucks with 15" wheels.

An alternative to the parking brake would be a brake lock on the back wheels if you have trouble finding the right hardware. Basically a leaver switch on the dash that does not allow the brake fluid back to the master cylinder if the switch is on. I had one on a Unibox Ford as I could not find the needed pieces for an emergency brake. Worked great for me

my 60 Hawk has a Torino rear end, a 9" Ford, but narrower than the usual.. perhaps its not a Stude?

You might try finding a full size Chevy 1'/2 ton rear for cheap and put it in with cabels complete and all. Same bolt pattern then Carry 1 spare then. jimmijim
