Baja any good?

Any comments good or bad on the Baja? I am thinking about buying one.

It's as good as the Outback/Legacy platform its based on. If you decide it meets your desires - no problem getting it. It may hold its value as it is discontinued in '07 I think.

The itty-bitty little canopy does make sense for hauling dogs around, keeps the dogslobber/fleas/hair out of the passenger compartment. (not to mention the smell).

There was another thread that talked about chewed up upholstery, something else to think about.

For me, it looks kinda cool, by practically that little bed being unenclosed and not terribly big quickly takes the practicality out of a Subaru. Not at all surprised it didn't really do well.

On the other hand I have a cousin who has one and she loves it.

Is it me, or does the Baja look like a rejuvination of the old Subaru Brat from the `80's?? My uncle used to have one next door back int he early 90's so when I saw the Baja a few years ago, I had to do a double take as if the Brat had came back to life twice it's orginial size.

Btw the dealership in town no longer has Baja's on the lot and hasn't for the last few months.

The Baja was discontinued earlier this year. Dealer supply will dwindle. Yes, it is a modern version of the BRAT.

I have 03 Baja and a 04 Forester. I bough them both new in the fall of 03. The Forster is better put together.
