Hi I have a 94 legacy LS sedan, wife's car. We are having check engine light problems, fans stayed on-ran crappy. Unplugged the battery overnight-problem solved for a couple days. Today the park lights wont go off and the C.E. lights on again. We also suspect the high position on the blower motor has something to do with this. Hope someone has an idea on this I've spent weeks tearing my hair out (what little I have left) and it's getting cold outside!!!! Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check for a switch on top of the steering column. It turns the parking lights on even when the car is off and keys are out. (The Subaru "Virgin Switch" cuz after you figure it out, you are officially an old-timer Scoob owner.)
Dunno about the fans, but the switch might cause the lights to be on.
Turn the fan to the "off" position when not running the car. That might open the circuit to avoid the blower going. Sometimes, the fan in front of the engine might go when you have turned the car off... that's normal. (It should shut off when the engine cools.)
Otherwise, you have some electrical problem.
Get your codes and post them, or just take it in.
Was the test connector under the dash, driver side connected? It commands a sequency of fan and valve operations but it should be overridden by the ignition switch.
good luck

Some subies have a park light switch on the steering column, as looking to the speed-o (12 o'clock position)
