DIY Changing belts in '96 Outback ???

Question

Hi,I want to change the belts myself in my '96 Outback.My novice questions are:1)  Could someone point out the number of belts under the hood andwhich of them is most important?2)  Where are they located?3) Are they easy to change?Any info in this regard would be of great help.Thanks.Max

Or for about the same price, use your DSL connection and download allthe tech manuals from Subaru. It's $20.00 for a 72 hour subscription.All the basic manuals are there for Subies from 96 to the present.I've heard the pdfs there are over a couple hundred megs.

Thanks, found it. So you put $20 on your VISA and then you can download anything you like (pdf's of service manuals) like a maniac for the next 72 hours ? And it's not restricted to one car so I can share it with a fellow Subarite who has a Forester instead of Legacy ?

I just heard about it myself so I can't tell you for sure but thatsounds about right. I think it's intended as a subscription kind ofthing where all the latest tech information is continually posted. Itmakes a better argument if you're a repair shop than a DIYer. I thinkthey recommend that you download what you need - and continually paythem for the privilege, but honestly, for home weekend mechanics itshouldn't be an issue.
