FWD fuse on 95 impreza

FWD changed it from all wheel drive to front wheel drive. Used when you have to use your small spare to save the transfer case.

When you install a fuse into the FWD fuse holder it will instruct the transmission to power only the front wheels. Gas savings in front wheel drive mode aren't great enough to warrant giving up your AWD/4WD in my experiences. I have also heard that even if the fuse holder is present, it may not be applicable to all models. I've never confirmed that. With the fuse installed, towing should still be done on a flatbed, why, I'm not entirely sure, but it's probably safe to *assume* that all of the "final-drive" (the back end and equivalent of a transfer case in Subaru's tranny) is not entirely disconnected in FWD mode from the back wheels, and since the FWD mode is electrically operated, I doubt it influences a non-powered car anyway.

It's because the axles will turn, but not enough lubrication in teh transmission will be present (true on AT cars)
