The TSB seems to indicate that the parts need to address this problem were introduced with the start of the 2003 model:

Ok thanks for that. Mine is a 2004 so I would _think_ Subaru have fixed it for the 2004 since the TSB was issued in 2003.
Or is that wishful thinking? J
