Need Help With Forester Bumper Damage

Jun 11, 2007 2 Replies

I have a 2006 Forester and managed to back into a pole in a parking lot the other day. I crimped the left side of the bumper cover. There is no support in the corners so it just crumpled in. I need to get a replacement bumper cover and wondering if anyone has any good resources for Subaru OEM Parts. I hope it comes prepainted. Also, what is a good source for info on how to remove and install this bumper. Does Subaru have a body manual or is there a good website for this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Depending on how bad it is, take a hair dryer to it, go over it and heat it up and reach inside and press it out.

If it needs paint get some flexible primer and Dupli-Color and spray it.

The material the bumper covers are made of have very good "memory". Heat the area up with a hair dryer or paint stripping gun and push back out from the inside.
