octane...

Hi!

The manual shows the compression as 10:1 on my '03 , what is the proper octane for that?

Also - where do I get the best (factory?) "bra?

Thank yous... Forrester.

I wouldn't suggest getting a 'bra' for your forester. Anyone I've talked to who's seen the damage that they do will atest. They tend to trap dirt and water and basically act like sandpaper against the paint. I bought a used Honda once with a bra, the car was a cheap winter beater and when I took off the bra it had worn the paint away exposing bare metal. Just my .02

Standard 87 octane will run just f> Hi!

Thank you for that advice... I switched from 87 to 89 oct.

- seems like it is a little firmer when shifting (auto) ???
