Sounds like a broken cable. Its fairly easy to check as it attaches to the

The 'Cable' in front of or right at the firewall goes to the dashboard speedometer. The electrical connectors go to the computer.

OK, call me dumb then ... what exactly is the "firewall"? And is it the top transducer or one of the two small ones on the RH side?
