80s buick v6 3.8 motor mounts

The left and right mounts are different part numbers. What is the difference. I have a pair and they look much the same except for a tab on one . I note that the bolt holes for the frame mount are different sizes but that may be to prevent interchanging them?

Methinks that IF they were installed backwards, the engine would sit too far aft or opposite. Many hot rodders made this mistake when converting older Novas to v-8's. Moved the engine about 2+ inches forward, and headers wouldn't fit w/o modification. It all comes about due to the engine vs. frame is not symmetrical. HTH & good luck, sdlomi BTW: good analysis on the different sized bolt-holes--and GREAT idea by GM! sdlomi
