Does anyone know how to install hood release cable on 98 honda passport? it should be similar to any other honda passport model or isuzu rodeo. I looked on full sevice manual book at Honda dealer and it doesn't mention how to install hood release cable. I am looking for any kind of hint, picture and more that may help me to install cable on my car.
thank you, Dave

One tip is to securely tape one end of the new cable to the old one, and use the old cable to 'pull' the new cable through the firewall, fender looms, etc.
First you will have to unclip the old cable from the hood latch (remove the 10mm head bolts from the latch first, then lift up on the latch to gain easy access), then remove the driver's side lower 'knee board' under the steering wheel and disconnect the cable from the release (at least I think that's where the inside release is mounted). Then visually follow the cable as far as you can see it both under the dash and under the hood and pull it out of any clips, tape, looms, guides, and whatever else is holding it down, but leave the cable in basically it's installed position. Now do the part I mentioned in the first sentence and snake the new cable from one end to the other. Wrap some tape around the actual tip of the new steel cable also so that it doesn't get damaged on anything during this operation.
