I have seem several brass evaporator cores, but most have been aluminum.
Aside from cost differences are there and other pros and cons for the two different types.
Which are more prone to leak? They both seem just as easy to replace.

Aluminum is a better conductor of heat than brass, not to mention that it is much lighter. It is difficult to find brass and copper units for later models.
