I am thinking of buying XLR connectors and microphone cabel in bulk. I am thinking of doing that to save money, make custom lengths, and build very high quality cables. My questions are:
1) Will it actually save any money over buying pre-made standard length cables?
2) Assuming I do good work, can the quality of my own cabling be better than the pre-made cables?
3) Where is a good place to buy good quality cable and connectors at a somewhat reasonable price?
