Ater driving the car for like 20 minuts and retart it right away engine would mis badly, very strong exhaust smell, restart the car no help, car would die out if drive like that,it wont back to normal untill wait for a while, It seem some part(s)go bad after heat up.The car run ok as long as start it in cold .could a bad coil does that?

95 Contour v6

Parts like ignition modules, ignition coils, crank position sensors, etc. can commonly fail after they get hot. The problem is figuring out which one..

Use a spark tester to find which is doing it. Same thing happened to a 96 New Yorker. I changed the plug wires and was a little better. Never seen a Contour, if you have one coil per two cylinder then one coil or its driver goes out this is what hapens. Get a spark tester, better yet a spark gap tester.
