CV joint noise

I understand that a bad outboard CV joint will make a "clicking" sound when making a sharp turn and that a bad inboard joint will make a "clunking" sound when accelerating in forward direction. But does the clunking noise of a bad inner joint disappear when making sharp turns or does it remain present despite which direction you are going?

this will all depend upon just exactly how bad either cv joint is in......as a general rule though it really dosen't make any difference. you can usually replace the entire half-shaft assembly which includes both the inner and outer cv joints, cheaper than you can replace either inner or outer joints and this is what i personally reccommend .
