Drop Melting Point testing!!!!!

Jul 20, 2007 4 Replies

Being a manufacturer of lubricating products, we are working on high temperature grease to fulfil the requirements of the industry where higher Drop Melting Point is needed. Our research team did wonderfull job to make it which was also proved in a test done by Hydrocarbon Development Institute Of Pakistan, a renound petroleum resarch institute.

They tested our hi-temp grease using ASTM method which proved it having Drop Melting Point > 250 C , and upon request to provide precise result they showed unability to go beyond 260 C and we got the same answer from all other renound institutes including PRD and S.G.S pakistan .

As we expect our grease having Drop Melting Point >= 400 C , so to market our product and to satisfy our clients we want to get it tested by any internationally renouned Laboratory . Could anyone help us chosing any Lab which has a facility and creditibility to satisfy our international clients as well .

Regards

Why dont you contact Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas. They have been around a long time and, IMO, have a sterling reputation.

They are good folks. Purdue University's tribology laboratory does some outside testing work as well and has a good reputation.

For some silly reason I am smelling a rat here. I dought anyone in the industry that can produce this product would not also know the testers. This would be some kind of scam I bet. If it were legit they would have contacted the universities by phone not some random post on a news group. KB

Don't you have any good labs in China?
