how to change 2001 honda civic EX headlight

Hi-

I'm trying to chane the driver side headlight on this car. You can't simply pop out the socket because the air conditioning and something else (maybe power steering pump) are in the way. So, I'm trying to remove the headlight to change the bulb. There are two screws accessible from the top which when removed, do not free the headlight assembly. How do you change the bulb in this car?

Thanks, Dino

Pull the power steering pump up off its bracket. It's a slip fit and will move out of the way enough to get at the bulb, even with the hoses still attached.

DO NOT REMOVE ANY HEADLAMP MOUNTING BOLTS!!!!! If you remove them you will disturb your headlamp alignment! If you have already done this, put the bracket back as closely as possible to where it was before you undid the bolts.

By the way, if you haven't got your Owner's Manual any more, you can get one here:

formatting link
"Owner's Manuals" from the menu at left, then navigate to your car. (No login is required.) In your case, information on changing the headlight bulbs is on pages

243 and 244.
