Moving brake pedal

Oct 27, 2005 4 Replies

Hi,

I wanted to know if it's a simple ajustement to move the brake pedal to the left away from the gas pedal. I keep touching the brake when accelerating. The pedals are too close together.

I have a Chevrolet Optra (Suzuki Forenza, Daewoo Nubira) 2005 automatic.

Thanks

I don't know the specific car, but I doubt there is any adjustment. It might be easier to move the gas pedal to the right and have the same result. You could saw off an inch from the brake pedal and bolt on an offset to the left to restore the full size. You might adopt the two foot driving technique so you are not switching from the gas pedal. Also, smaller shoes will work better than army boots.

Removing the brake arm, putting it in a bench vice, and hitting it a few times with a big hammer would likely move it to the left.

Not a simple adjustment, but a simple customizing procedure.

I sincerely like that, HLS: a lot said in a few words! s
