I have random starting problems. I replaced the starter relay located on the driver's side fender but did not help. The battery is good. I think it is the neutral safety switch. Where exactly on the tranny is it located? Should it be adjusted or replaced?

The neutral safety switch is mounted where the shift shaft enters the transmission case. You'll need to remove the shift lever and detent lever to replace it.

If the switch is transmission mounted, usually only the detent lever needs to be removed. The switch straddles the shift lever and indexes on its extension. John
