The difference would be trivial for you. Air is 80% nitrogen. Race cars sometimes use pure nitrogen in the tires becasue the pressure build-up as the tire heats up is more predictable. With plain old air you have some water vapor and this leads to a less predictable rate of pressure buid-up as the tire heats up. Pure notrigen also has one other minor advantage. It is not reactive. Plan old air contains about 20% oxygen which will react with the rubber inside your tires, but this is trivial.

Normally aired tires have 78% nitrogen anyway. I suppose you could put nitrous oxide in them and then when you have a leak, at least you could laugh over it.

Yeah, but wouldn't it leak out FASTER? ;-)

For racing and avionics a nitrogen filling is recommended because this filling won't encourage a fire. For standard drivers it's only wasting money, at least it doesn't harm.

It's much more important to change the summer air out of your tires during the winter, and vice versa.

If I use a synthetic multigrade air, is this still necessary?

If you use helium in your tires, you can get your car to fly as long as your exhaust tip is large enough.
