Bosch came up with an interesting solution to the issue with their pads. Modern pads are primarily ceramic since asbestos was banned and most compounds are black and can dust up wheels quite severely. Bosch use a grey coloured material that still dusts up just the same but isn't anywhere as visually obvious. Worth a look in perhaps.
