Resistor blower unit - Mazda Protege 2001

May 05, 2004 1 Replies

Does anyone know where the resistor blower unit is located on a Mazda Protege 2001 with air conditioning?

The air conditioning kicks out whenever I put the fan blower speed to "two". (It works well at speed setting "one", "three" and "four"). The heater works well on all fan speeds. Today I bought the resistor blower unit, and I will change that as a first step toward fixing that problem. I do not know where it is located though.

Thank you, Mathieu Deziel.

For the records, is located just behind the glove compartment. It took me 10 mins to replace it. I guess I was lucky, it is located at the first place I looked.

Up to now, it seems that it solved my problem, but I can't be sure as it was a sporadic problem that would occur on hot days only (which is not the case these days around here).
