saving gas by following another car

I can seem to find more info on this technique. I tried on highway but I really don't know the distance between 2 cars. I would never tailgate but maybe 4 or more car distance. It's not easy when driving at 60 - 65mph as most cars pass mine than me following them. truck may be too slow sometimes.

No big rig is going to panic-stop for a deer. They'll pull over safely to assess the minor damage after the deer goes splat!

And perhaps pick up some nice fresh venison. Besides, even if the trucker locks up his brakes (yeahyeahyeah, JUST THIS SIDE of locking up his brakes) he can't stop faster than a car or motorcycle -- assuming the car or MC driver noticed those red lights suddenly getting a LOT brighter.

Which does him no good if he is following too close.
