my son has a 90 beretta gtz with an after market sway bar. the shop he took it to said they had to cut the stabilizers to replace with new ones.now the steering is harder than before and when the wheel is turned there is a loud squeak.I think it may just be the power steering motor, but the shop replaced the stabilizers.any ideas why the steering is worse?

Bothers me that they say they had to cut the stabilizers to install the new ones.
The aftermarket sway bar should not affect the steering, IMHO, if installed properly.
You need to see exactly what they did, and if they buggered something along the way in their slaughterhouse mechanical technique.
