stop light fuse keeps blowing in Ford 97 econoline

Hello

My stop lights do not work.

The multifunction switch has two fuses. One hot in run(Hazards) and one hot always.

THe hot in run fuse is also the same fuse for my stop lights. (and Brake Pressure Switch, RABS, diagnostic)

My brake lights work fine when the engine is not running, but as soon as it starts that hot in run fuse blows.

I cut into the wire at the brake pedal and no have the wire going directly to vehicle power with 15 amp fuse. Stop lights work fine.

Just can't get the hazards to work. Of course the hazards worked when the fuse wasn't blown?

Do you think there's a short at the multifunction switch?

Possibly. But, if taillights, brakelites, and turn signals work, what do you really need a hazard lite for? sdlomi
