Are there any SUV's in which BOTH the front passenger and rear passenger seats folds down flat in such a way that there is an unobstructed flat area between dash and tailgate? I want to put a 9' 4" kayak INSIDE this vehicle. (Yes, I know all about roofracks.) Thanks in advance. Frank P.S. Looking for a mainstream SUV. Also is there a better newsgroup for this question?

My 97 Suburban is more than 8 ft from the back of the front seat to the rear doors. I would imagine if you reclined the passenger front seat you could get your kayak in. tad
Thanks for the info. But how far will the passenger seat recline? I assume it will not go flat?
I needed lots of interior length too, and looked at several SUV's, crossovers and station wagons and could not find one that allowed the front passenger seat to fold flat. It would be quite a trick to pull off with the head restraint which is usually fixed.
I was surprised at the number of medium sized SUV's that did not have rear seats that folded flat.
You might look at a Suburban or similar.
