TPS

We have our first car with TPS, and I'm not sure how much to rely on it.

I'm used to checking the tire pressure every few weeks, but the dealer service departent tells me that that is not necessary, since the warning light will come on if pressure is down 2 pounds. Sound like the manual checking is really not necessary?

You have a tire gauge, check the air pressure whenever you feel like it. If it was my car I wouldn't rely on that light.

They are pretty good. Depending on which car it can tell you the pressure in each tire as well.

You will encounter very few false negatives and a lot of false positives.
