Trick to keep thrust washer in place during crank install?

Putting together a 7MGE Toyota engine, one side of the upper thrust washers keeps falling out when it gets nudged by the crank. Whats something that will keep it in place? I thought about a couple of small pieces of tape but don't like the idea of putting anything that will eventually become debris inside the engine.

Thanks.

I hope you have some grease or assembly lube around.... You really don't want to put it together dry.... A dab of that will hold it in place.

Hopefully, you have measured thrust clearance before putting it back together with a dab of grease to hold the thrust washer in place.
