I have a bunch of old auto magazines and auto books here. One of the magazines (MPG magazine,I think it is) has an article which dates back to the 1970's.A piano tuner guy in California fixed up his Toyota car with a 20 HP gasoline engine and four alternators and four batteries and an electric motor. Each alternator charges one battery, one alternator per battery. In the article,he claimes he gets 168 miles per gallon. cuhulin
